About the Accompanist

Calvin Herst

Calvin Herst joined the staff of the Chorale in the fall of 2014, though he had been a fan for more than a decade prior. He met Scott Lounsbury shortly after moving to Concord in 1997 and has been happily collaborating with him on various projects ever since.

Calvin is also the staff pianist for the Unitarian Universalist Church in Concord, and is the staff accompanist at the Concord Community Music School, where he served as the Director of Education and Community Partnerships from 1997-2015. He was honored with the NH Governor’s Arts Award for Education in 2015.

He is sought after as a collaborative pianist, and has a special love for accompanying singers. He has played in concert venues throughout New England, the Kennedy Center in Washington, the Philadelphia Academy of Music, and throughout the People’s Republic of China in a 1996 concert tour.

Calvin is a partner and owner of Cowan and Zellers Real Estate in Concord, a thriving independent firm that has been serving the greater Concord area since 1999. When he’s not working, he loves windsurfing, sailing, and enjoying the company of family and friends.
