Chorale News

A Message from our President

Welcome to the Suncook Valley Chorale Website! I am pleased to be making several announcements about upcoming events!

First, I am very excited to announce that our full rehearsal schedule will be resuming in September of 2021!

The “Open Sing Nights” for new and current Chorale members will be held on September 13th and 20th, at 6:30 PM, in the Concord High School Band Room. Open Sing Nights are a chance for you to join us to see how our rehearsals and musical selection suit your taste. We don’t require any audition to join,  instead you audition us!

Once the regular rehearsal season begins, Music files  will be emailed to members, and be available on the website, to help practice at home. We only ask that you be willing to learn the music and have a lot of fun in the process. Our motto is “Sing for Joy” and we do that well!

Our winter concerts will be performed on Friday, January 14, 2022, 7 PM and Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 2 PM, at Wesley Methodist Church in Concord.

Our members come from all over southern New Hampshire and Northern Mass. They range in age from 18 to 80 and all love to sing! Our Music Director, Scott Lounsbury and Pianist Calvin Herst, make our rehearsals an enjoyable learning experience.

We hope you join us singing, in four- and six-part harmonies, to the enjoyment of our audiences and ourselves.

If you’re unable to join us but would still like to support the Chorale, you may make an online donation directly to the Chorale by going to the “Get Involved” page of the website.  Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.

To keep up to date on the Chorale’s activities, please follow us on this website, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

I look forward to seeing you at the “Open Sings” in September, at rehearsals this fall, or in the audience in January!

Thank You,

Phil Paveglio, President
Suncook Valley Chorale

THE SUNCOOK VALLEY CHORALE IS BACK FOR THE FALL OF 2021

The Chorale will begin in person rehearsals weekly on Mondays, beginning September 13, 2021.

The fall music program is titled “Gathering Once Again” and is a bright, uplifting performance for the pleasure of the audience and the Chorale.

SVC Fall 2021 Fundraising Campaign

The Suncook Valley Chorale will be running its Fall 2021 Fundraising Campaign from October 1st through December 6th, 2021.

For nearly 40 years your generous support has helped the Suncook Valley Chorale promote the art and performance of choral music throughout Central New Hampshire. Donations to the Suncook Valley Chorale help us to continue our work as Concord’s community chorus. Funds raised go to scholarships for Concord High School students, financial assistance for members of the community who would like to sing with us but lack the means to do so, and ticket donations that make our concerts accessible to all.

As a “thank you” to our contributors during this campaign time, each Donor’s name will be published in our programs for both our Winter and Spring concerts for the 2021-2022 Chorale Programs. If you wish, you may contact our Fundraising Officer to request that your donation be kept anonymous or in the name or memory of a friend or loved one.

Donation information is available on the “Get Involved!” Page.

Your financial support of the Chorale and local arts will be greatly appreciated both during this Fundraising Campaign and year round!

Meet our President!

I’m Phil Paveglio and I’m the president of the Suncook Valley Chorale. Welcome to our website!

We are a 70-voice, non-auditioned chorale which performs in January and May. We hold open sings each fall and winter for you to audition us, learn about our music, and experience our rehearsal style. We ask only that you be willing to learn the music and have a lot of fun in the process. Our motto is “Sing for Joy” and we do that very well!

Our members come from all over Southern New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts to rehearse with us on Monday nights at Concord High School in Concord, New Hampshire. We range in age from 18 to 80 and we all love to sing! Our music director, Scott Lounsbury, and our pianist, Calvin Herst, make our rehearsals memorable and enjoyable.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our  Spring 2020, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 rehearsal and concert seasons were cancelled. However, we are pleased to announce that will be returning to our regular rehearsal and concert season schedules beginning in September 2021!

Stay safe and be well!
