 Message from our Board

Welcome to the Suncook Valley Chorale Website!

We have some news about what the Chorale is up to and some scheduling changes required in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.

Our last season, 2020-2021, was cancelled per force by the Pandemic, and our rehearsals were suspended from January 2021 until September 2021. We gathered together again in September, with high spirits and lots of hope and enthusiasm. Our mid-September “Open Sing” events at the Concord High School Band room were joyful reunions of our veteran members, and warm welcomes for several new members! We launched into our new concert program and full rehearsal schedule.

We have had great fun preparing for our January 2022 concerts, and as a whole we have adapted well to a rather strict COVID protocol (full vaccination and masking requirements, modified rehearsal pacing, increased air circulation and social distancing). In September and even October we felt we were making great headway on finally joining together as a chorale and preparing to welcome our community back to our concerts.

Unfortunately, as of the beginning of December it became apparent to us that COVID was not going to be as easily overcome as we had hoped. A significant resurgence of COVID-related risks has led the board to decide to cancel our January 2022 concerts.  We remain optimistic however, that we will be able to rehearse and perform the same program that we have been working on in May, 2022.

With consideration for the current surge in COVID cases here in New Hampshire, the Board has cancelled the January 10th, 2022, Rehearsal and decided to postpone our January 24th, 2022, second semester signups.  We hope to reschedule the second semester sign ups in early February and safely resume rehearsals for our May concert, however, that decision will not be made until the next Board meeting on January 31, 2022. We will follow that meeting with an announcement on the Board’s decision. Please see the Join Us page for more information

Thank you, and we hope to sing with you again soon.
