Welcome Letter

The Suncook Valley Chorale has always been a non-auditioned chorus and we continue to grow in the depth of our musical ability and the breadth of our repertoire.  Our membership ranges in age from teenagers to octogenarians and all are asked to meet Chorale expectations.

As a member of the Chorale you are asked to:

Learn your music.  Members should be able to blend their voices with the group, sing on pitch, and be able to follow changes in rhythm, pitch, etc.  Practice between rehearsals. Scott schedules sectionals before regular Monday rehearsals – these are a great opportunity to bang out the problem areas.  Take advantage if possible and attend as many as you can!

Attend scheduled rehearsals.  Attending 100% of the time is terrific but let’s be realistic…life, work and family responsibilities sometimes get in the way.  Please miss no more than three rehearsals and be sure to let your section leader know in advance about planned absences.

Pay the Chorale dues each season.  Chorale dues are $50.00 per semester. There are scholarships available for members who would find this a financial hardship.  Email membership@svcnh.org for more information.

Help in our fundraising efforts.  All Chorale members are expected to participate in the organization’s fundraising efforts.  As a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, we depend on several sources of income to meet our operating budget:

Member dues
Concert ticket sales
Fall Donor/Sponsor Campaign (Oct.-Dec.)
W
inter Advertising Sales Campaign (Feb.-April)
Donations

Help with rehearsal and concert logistics.  The Chorale is run by its volunteer members.  We ask each member to help on occasion with preparations for rehearsals and concerts from setting up chairs and risers to bringing snacks.  Many hands make light work!

What you can expect from Suncook Valley Chorale:

The opportunity to make new friends, sing challenging music, participate in a supportive atmosphere, and have lots of fun!

Thank You for joining the Suncook Valley Chorale!
